Newsletter October 1, 2026
Dear CCS Alumni and Friends:
Reminder from Pauline Rogers Nash, Class of 1963:
Fall seems to finally arrived here in Mississippi but summer is trying to hold on. Supposed to be 90° on Wednesday. It is this time of year that I really miss Cambridge. My hip replacement in April led to 9 weeks in a rehab facility where they helped me to walk again. My daughter and son in law have moved in with me. What a blessing that has been. Thanks to Kathy for taking over the newsletter and website. Hope you have visited the new website. Please note that my email address is now strawberrypolly@gmail.com. I hope you will still keep in touch!!!!
From Linda Record: Cambridge Central School Alumni Association is encouraging planning to start now for the 2027 reunions. Letters are going out soon offering any assistance the Association can offer on behalf of the anniversary classes involved. All graduated classes (not just the anniversary classes) are invited to the reunion being held July 17, 2027 at the Cambridge American Legion Pole Barn. A list of the weekend activities July 16, 17 & 18, 2027 and costs for the reunion will be published online and through mailings at a later date. A great way to reconnect and enjoy your classmates.
New Website Updates
We’re continuing to make improvements to our new website as we bring over more of the wonderful content from our old site. We’re also working on fixing links and updating the Red Rose Lists along the way. A big thank you to everyone who has been sending in stories, class information, and Red Rose List updates. Your contributions help keep our CCS memories and connections alive, so please keep them coming! Have you had a chance to visit our new Alumni Spotlight featuring Marjorie Ridler? And be sure to check out the stories recently submitted by David Merrill Martin, Class of 1961. It’s always great to hear from our alumni and share the memories that make CCS special. One more reminder: please update your bookmarks to our new website: https://ccs-indians.com/ We’re glad you’re here and appreciate everyone who continues to be part of the CCS alumni community!
From Mary Longtin regarding the obituary of Joseph Rouse Our Hearts go out to you Nancy.

Joe was the Nicest and Gentlest man I ever knew when I purchased my very first new car in Greenwich. He treated me like I was one of his very own daughters. He never forgot me and neither did you. Such kind Loving People
A Taste of Old Times A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending the Clam Steam at the Legion out on Route 22. I honestly can’t remember the last time I made it to one—perhaps it had been far too long! Three dozen clams, all-you-can-eat burgers and hot dogs, plenty of beer and soda, and, best of all, a whole lot of familiar faces. It was wonderful to reconnect with people I hadn’t seen in years, while also meeting many folks I didn’t know. There was something special about being there. It reminded me of the kind of community gatherings that have always made our town such a great place to call home—good food, good conversation, and neighbors coming together. It was a wonderful afternoon and a great reminder that some traditions are worth keeping alive. If you’ve never been, or if it’s been a while, I highly recommend making your way to the Clam Steam next year. You just might see a few old friends—and make some new memories along the way!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Kathy
